JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP of Creative, you’ll set the standard for how millions encounter the charity: water brand. You’ll balance execution and creative direction-delivering stunning design while influencing the evolution of our visual identity. This role is equal parts craft and conviction: leveraging charity: water’s signature style while pushing it further to reach new audiences.
YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…
- Creating and directing design across a wide range of outputs: digital campaigns, social, website, OOH, print, donor decks, event branding, merch, and film campaigns
- Contributing not only as a maker but also as a creative thinker—helping evolve the visual system and maintain brand consistency across platforms
- Collaborating closely with copywriters, videographers, campaign leads, and team leads across fundraising, brand partnerships, marketing, and product
- Translating campaign concepts into clear, memorable design that inspires donors and reinforces our mission
- Supporting and directing external freelancers or agency partners, ensuring output matches the highest creative standards
- Applying UX/UI skills in web and digital design projects; bring ideas to life in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (or comparable platforms)
- Exploring new mediums—experiential activations, physical spaces, cultural moments—where design can amplify impact
- Upholding excellence in craft and consistency while embracing experimentation that advances the brand
YOU MUST HAVE…
- 5–7+ years of professional design experience (or exceptional talent on the cusp of senior level)
- Expertise in graphic and digital design platforms (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc); familiarity with UX/UI practices and digital systems design
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of premium, disruptive, dignified, and hopeful design work
- Ability to balance detail-oriented execution with high-level conceptual thinking
- Collaborative and communicative; thrive when working with a multi-disciplinary team
- Passionate about design’s power to move people, shape culture, and drive impact
IT’S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVE…
- Experience designing for experiential environments (events, installations, activations) where storytelling meets space
- Exposure to motion graphics, animation, or interactive media, expanding how our stories come to life
- Experience working with photo direction or film teams, ensuring visual cohesion across mediums
- Experience evolving or extending a global brand system while protecting its core DNA
- Experience with emerging tools (AI-assisted design, 3D, AR/VR) and can spot where they add value without losing humanity

The Creative team is a deeply passionate group of designers, videographers, editors, project managers and storytellers. They’re responsible for gathering inspiring content and crafting one-of-a-kind stories from the countries we serve. They help our amazing community of supporters be more aware of the global water crisis, compelling them to take action.

SALARY RANGE
This is an exempt role with a range of $88,604 - $104,240 a year.
