Requirements

The Role: Senior Detail Designer / Senior Technical Designer

You would be remotely joining a small, dynamic team and working at pace on creative international restaurant and bar projects. With numerous exciting projects extending across the hospitality sector, this is a brilliant opportunity to join a blossoming team. This role would suit a self-motivated team player with a positive, communicative and collaborative approach. The candidate should be passionate about developing the best details to realise the creative potential for each project, this will include working with a wide range of styles and materials. A strong attention to detail, proportions and technical acumen is required as well as high quality joinery detailing experience too for these complex design projects. Our technical and detail designers work collaboratively and enthusiastically with the design teams to develop the concepts. We look for detail designers that have a self-starting, motivated approach and will enjoy learning new ways of working. You will also engage with our company standards and deliver drawing packages for Interior Design projects for high-end hospitality, Food & Beverage and lifestyle projects.

Responsibilities

• Working on multiple F&B projects in Egypt/North Africa and abroad (with UK oversight)
• Works under minimum supervision to prepare finished drawings from sketches, notes, layouts, details and verbal instructions.
• Setting up project drawing packages and managing drawing issue registers
• May perform as CAD project coordinator
• Will perform in a designer capacity for bespoke items of joinery or for roll-out designs.
• Provide cohesive and rational technical solutions which conform to the project brief and are technically, legally and financially responsible.
• Preparation of technical analysis and research into appropriate materials and construction systems and techniques.
• Prepares design development packages in accordance with criteria established by the project designer and/or the project manager
• Under supervision, prepares documentation for tender, and participates in tender review meetings, and making adjustments to the design or specifications.
• Reviews mock-ups, material and finish submittals prior to final review
• Collaborate with and report to the Design team based in London
• Occasionally manage a team producing detail drawing packages, responsibilities will include but not be limited to ensuring the design intent is reflected in the drawings, resolving technical challenges, defining any potential gaps or oversights and reviewing all drawings whilst maintaining regular communication with the concept design team.
• May be required to attend 0n-site meetings and liaise with contractors in country/North Africa

Required Skill & Experience;

• Excellent communication skills in English & Arabic
• Minimum 7 years thorough experience creating detail design packages for high quality spaces
• Minimum 3 years site experience
• Bachelors’ Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture Technology from an accredited school

• Able to manage multiple projects at the same time and work quickly when required
• Confident running their own projects while securing advice or specialist direction from others
• Organised and efficient and used to working to deadlines
• Autonomous, self-motivated and adaptable
• Strong technical skills with the ability to create detailed drawing packages
• Has a good understanding of FF&E, colour and material specification and development

• Experience producing FF&E specifications with costings, materials, finishes and schedules
• Must be highly proficient in Autocad.
• Proficiency in Vectorworks and Revit too is a benefit.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications

• A working knowledge of project information databases and specification writing is an advantage
• Proven professional experience is essential.

The successful candidates will be attached to our 6th October Office, Cairo from April 2026 onwards for 3 days per week. We work remotely some of the time in a hybrid model.
