Senior Director, Central Planning and Inventory

Position Summary:


The Senior Director, Central Planning and Inventory provides enterprise leadership and strategic oversight of AdaptHealth's planning and inventory functions, leading from a strong supply chain perspective that supports both execution and governance. This role is responsible for setting direction, driving transformation, and ensuring operational excellence across demand planning, inventory optimization, capacity management, and system integration. The Senior Director leads cross-functional collaboration and governance to ensure planning decisions support business objectives, financial targets, and customer service goals. This role is expected to provide strong leadership, develop high-performing teams, and build sustainable infrastructure for long-term success.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic vision and execution of centralized planning and inventory management across the enterprise, serving as the supply chain lead for inventory and planning
  • Lead the rollout, stabilization, and enterprise adoption of perpetual inventory, ensuring strong field engagement and operational readiness
  • Drive structured change management and field adoption to embed sustainable inventory practices
  • Enforce strong quarter-end inventory controls and ensure audit readiness through governance, documentation, and partnership with Internal Audit
  • Oversee the development and implementation of scalable planning frameworks, governance structures, and performance scorecards
  • Direct enterprise-wide demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and capacity planning initiatives, including establishing foundational forecasting capabilities post-perpetual inventory
  • Build and support S&OE and S&OP processes to strength short-and long-term planning alignment
  • Ensure alignment of planning decisions with sourcing, fulfillment, finance, and operational strategies
  • Provide executive oversight of backorder management, allocation strategies, and inventory availability
  • Champion asset management strategy and ensure lifecycle visibility and control
  • Lead the development and execution of the Repairs program, ensuring equipment readiness and cost efficiency
  • Establish and maintain a robust framework with Internal Audit and external consultants to ensure compliance, sustainability, and readiness
  • Standardize planning processes across sites through SOPs, scorecards, and training tools
  • Oversee system integration and data governance across Oracle, Brightree, and other platforms
  • Support warehouse standardization and planning integration for new site launches and transitions
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on planning, risk mitigation, and operational readiness
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across planning functions
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit to embed sustainability frameworks and compliance into planning operations
  • Guide the creation and evolution of demand forecasting models to support dynamic business needs

Competency, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven executive leadership in supply chain planning and inventory management
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with ability to lead enterprise transformation
  • Expertise in ERP systems (Oracle preferred), planning tools, and data visualization platforms
  • Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and governance
  • Deep understanding of demand planning, inventory control, and capacity modeling
  • Familiarity with audit frameworks, compliance, and process standardization
  • Ability to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving

Management/Supervision:

  • Directly manages Directors, Senior Managers, and Analysts
  • Responsible for organizational design, talent development, and succession planning
  • Reports to Vice President, Supply Chain
Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS, CPIM, PMP) strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain operations, or related roles
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic leadership and people management
  • Demonstrated success in leading enterprise planning transformation

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with extensive use of computers and digital collaboration tools
  • Occasional travel to warehouse, distribution, or corporate sites
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and lead in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills for cross-functional engagement
