Senior Director, Digital Engineering – Web, App

Inspire Brands is reimagining its Digital Engineering organization to deliver enterprise-grade web and mobile platforms across multiple brands. We are seeking a Sr. Director, Digital Engineering to lead Inspire’s next-generation digital platform.

This leadership role will focus on enterprise-scale React and React Native development, cloud-native microservices architectures, and leveraging AI/GenAI to improve productivity, accelerate development, and enhance quality. The Sr. Director will oversee onsite and offshore engineering teams, manage budgets, and ensure Inspire’s platforms remain resilient, innovative, and strategically aligned to business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the vision for Inspire’s digital engineering platforms, aligning with corporate and brand strategies.
• Partner with Digital Product teams to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions for ordering, loyalty, marketing, and customer engagement.
• Drive adoption of AI/GenAI for productivity, including code generation, automated testing, documentation, and DevOps efficiency.
• Contribute to Inspire Digital Platform (IDP) roadmaps, ensuring stability, innovation, and continuous modernization.
• Own and manage director-level OKRs that are tied to Inspire’s digital transformation goals.

Technology & Productivity Innovation

• Lead the development and modernization of enterprise-grade web and mobile applications, with expertise in React and React Native.
• Champion cloud-native, microservices-based architectures (Azure preferred) for scalability and resilience.
• Deploy AI/GenAI productivity tools to optimize engineering velocity, defect reduction, and collaboration.
• Oversee platform performance, scalability, and security across Inspire’s multi-brand portfolio.
• Act as a trusted technology advisor, particularly within the retail and QSR digital ecosystem.

People Leadership & Operations

• Build, scale, and mentor a high-performing engineering team across onsite and offshore delivery models.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Product, Data, AI/ML, Loyalty, and Marketing functions.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and vendor partnerships to ensure efficient program delivery.
• Drive operational excellence with balanced onsite/offshore resourcing strategies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience in digital engineering.
• Proven success in enterprise-grade React and React Native engineering leadership.
• Strong experience in retail digital platforms; QSR experience preferred.
• Track record of managing onsite and offshore teams across large-scale programs.
• Demonstrated success in budget ownership, resource planning, and cost optimization.
• Hands-on experience implementing AI/GenAI for productivity in engineering and operations.
• Exposure to Martech and Loyalty systems.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES

• Deep expertise in web and mobile application development (React, React Native, Spring Boot, NoSQL).
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures (Azure or similar).
• Knowledge of AI/GenAI frameworks (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LangChain) applied to productivity.
• Familiarity with MarTech platforms, personalization engines, and loyalty systems is advantageous.
• Exceptional team leadership and people development skills with distributed teams.
• Strong financial acumen for budget, vendor, and resource management.
• Excellent communication and executive influence skills.
• Proficiency in Agile and SAFe methodologies.

This position sits within our Atlanta Support Center with an expectation to be on-site 80%.
