Position Summary
The Senior Director of Behavioral Systems is responsible for the integration and oversight of ASUA’s behavioral programming systems and application infrastructure to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation across all locations.
This role leads the alignment of behavioral systems, staff training, supervision structures, and data-informed decision-making processes to ensure that all programming reflects ASUA’s trauma-informed, child-centered, and neuro-affirming philosophy.
The Senior Director ensures that core organizational initiatives—including behavioral programming, SWPBIS, crisis prevention (CPI/Ukeru), data systems, and staff competency development—are implemented with fidelity, consistency, and a focus on socially valid outcomes, while maintaining a strong, proactive emphasis on the physical safety of both students and staff, including the prevention and reduction of injury across all settings.
This role integrates system design, staff training, implementation monitoring, and supervision frameworks to create a cohesive infrastructure that supports both staff performance and student success.
QualificationsRequired
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Current BCBA certification
- Minimum of 5–7 years experience in behavioral programming within special education or clinical settings
- Demonstrated ability to translate behavioral theory into scalable systems and practical tools
- Experience designing or managing data systems, training systems, or fidelity monitoring structures
- Strong project management, documentation, and organizational skills
Preferred
- Experience supporting multi-site programs
- Experience in staff training and adult learning
- Experience in quality improvement or implementation science
- Familiarity with SWPBIS, DBR systems, and program evaluation tools
- Experience collaborating across academic and clinical teams
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Behavioral Systems & Programming Integration
- Design and oversee scalable behavioral programming systems across ASUA
- Ensure alignment of:
- PBSP development and implementation
- Behavioral response protocols
- Risk assessment and decision-making frameworks
- Integrated behavioral, academic, and clinical supports

Organizational Training Systems
- Design and oversee comprehensive training infrastructure including:
- Behavioral programming training
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training and Response (CPI/Ukeru)
- Elevatus Sexuality Education Training
- Integrated programming training across disciplines
- Develop:
- Staff competency checklists
- Skill demonstration protocols
- Training documentation systems
- Ensure training includes:
- Data collection and analysis
- Functional behavior assessment
- PBSP implementation
- Skill acquisition and behavior reduction strategies
- Staff coaching and feedback systems
Crisis Prevention & Safety Training (CPI/Ukeru)
- Oversee all crisis prevention and safety training programs
- New staff onboarding/certification

- Ensure fidelity of:

- Design and oversee supervision structures for:

- Competency-based supervision models
- Ensure supervision includes:
- Ethical practice

Data Systems & Organizational Metrics
- Oversee behavioral data systems including:

This role does not function as a primary site-based supervisor but conducts observation, coaching, and system oversight across locations.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

● Travel between campuses and program locations as needed
● Perform duties in school, community, or other program settings
● Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head of Schools or other appropriate
administrator

Equipment/Material Handled
The individual in this position shall be assigned a variety of resources and materials which are to be appropriately stored and accounted for. All media resources and borrowed material are to be judiciously used, and are to be maintained in a reasonably unsoiled and non- damaged fashion. Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
