Senior Director of Information Governance

Job Summary
Supero Communications Group is seeking a strategic Senior Director of Information Governance to establish the "Source of Truth" for our organization in Sharjah. As we expand our digital footprint, the management of our information assets—from creation to defensible disposition—is critical. You will architect the policies that govern how we store, share, and protect sensitive client data, ensuring full compliance with the UAE Federal Data Protection Law and international privacy standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance Framework: Design and implement a holistic Information Governance (IG) framework that unifies Records Management, Data Privacy, and eDiscovery readiness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Serve as the internal authority on UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 (Data Protection) and GDPR (for our EU clients), ensuring all data processing activities are lawful and transparent.
  • Data Lifecycle Management: Overhaul our Data Retention Schedules. You will define what we keep, where we keep it, and—crucially—when we delete it (Defensible Disposition).
  • Data Classification: Roll out a company-wide data classification scheme (Public, Internal, Confidential, Restricted) and enforce it using tools like Microsoft Purview.
  • Shadow IT Reduction: Identify and mitigate risks associated with unmanaged data repositories (e.g., employees using personal Dropbox/WeTransfer for client files).
  • Training & Culture: Drive a cultural shift. You will train creative and account teams on why "saving everything forever" is a risk, not a backup strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in Information Governance, Records Management, or Compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in Media, Telecom, or Legal sectors is preferred.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Information Science, Law (LLM), or Business Administration.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as IGP (Information Governance Professional), CIPP/E (Privacy), or CIPM are highly valued.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Governance/GRC platforms (OneTrust, Collibra) and the compliance features of Microsoft 365 (Purview/Compliance Center).
  • Soft Skills: The ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to creative directors and marketing executives without slowing down their workflow.

Why Work With Us?

  • The Influence: You will report directly to the C-Suite/General Counsel, with the authority to shape policy.
  • The Location: Based in Sharjah, the cultural heart of the UAE, offering a stable and family-friendly environment.
  • The Challenge: Transforming a high-volume media environment into a model of digital discipline.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED45,000.00 - AED55,000.00 per month
