SENIOR DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
HOURS: Minimum of 7.5 hours per day. Must be able to work flexible and/or additional hours as mandated by library operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the day-to-day operations of functional areas of CPL Information Technology Department. The scope of responsibility includes all library branches and points of service delivery in the CPL organization. Participates in the development, recommendation and administration of CPL Information Technology policies, procedures, and processes. Oversees and provides budget input in assigned functional areas. Works collaboratively with CPL departments, the community, and/or external agencies. Supervises management, technical/support staff. Plan, execute, and finalize assigned projects. Acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science or related technology field is required.
Experience:
-
Minimum 8 years’ experience required in the following areas: Management of desktop, network, and server technologies (primarily Microsoft). Working with a wide variety of end user populations. Working with technology vendors to solve IT problems and ensure successful long-term resolution; providing solutions that are innovative and meet or exceed desired outcomes within fiscal and other constraints; and managing IT functions in environments in which system uptime is critical.

Supervisory experience: 5 years is required, specifically managing technology professionals.

Experience managing large enterprise with 500+ end-users.
Technical Expertise:
-
Experience working with vendors to solve IT problems and ensure successful long-term resolution is required.

Experience providing solutions that are innovative and meet or exceed desired outcomes within fiscal and other constraints is required.

Experience leading IT functions in environments in which system uptime is critical is required.

Experience managing large networks is required.

Experience with Microsoft Technologies including Windows, Office 365, and Azure.

Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

Experience with Firewall, Network Switches, Wireless Access Points.

Proficiency in Windows 10, 11, and iOS - MS Office or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, etc.
Required Certifications: Active CompTIA A+ Certification (or approved equivalent), Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert. Certifications must be attained within 5 months for employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on the performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

Assist in developing CPL IT team and managing key IT personnel.

Ensure CPL is adhering to best practices including Cybersecurity, NIST, and Business Continuity.

Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, clients, and strategy.

Supervises help desk team and other technology professionals as directed, provides direction, coaches, trains, and develops, hires, and manages performance to organization goals and expectations.

Ensures daily processes including but not limited to cyber security, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are documented and adhered to.

Manage Active Directory, User Accounts.

Manages vendors and outside service providers effectively; sets expectations and holds them accountable.

Oversees the day-to-day management and configuration of the Information Technology systems including servers, wireless, phones, end point security, and others.

Aligns technology systems to CPL IT strategy.

Develop and Management Technology Assets and Retention Policies.

Evaluate CPL technology and consistency at all Branch locations.

Ensures server capacity meets or exceeds needs.
-
Ensures necessary system upgrades/patches are tested and applied as needed.

Oversees maintenance agreements, evaluates vendor performance, and participates in specification, selection, acquisition, and evaluation of system hardware and software including negotiating with vendors.

Provides technical and information support for applications including accounting, library operations and services, and related third party systems.

Works with CLEVNET team ensuring CPL needs and requirements are being met based on services agreements.
