Job Description

Position Overview: The Senior Director of Project Management is responsible for leading the project management of real estate development projects across hospitality, multi-family, and student housing sectors. This position requires a strategic and results-driven leader with a strong background in project management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex projects from conception through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of diverse project portfolios on time and within budget.
  • Define project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the lifecycle.
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee compliance, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process efficiencies, and best practices across the team.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • 12+ years of project management experience, including 7+ years in project leadership.
  • 10–15 years with a reputable GC or construction management firm.
  • Direct experience managing $200M+ in commercial real estate projects in the past 5–10 years.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction lifecycle, project delivery methods, and value engineering.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Skilled communicator with leadership presence and the ability to engage executives, clients, and investors.
  • Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, or equivalent).
  • Hospitality project experience (hotel builds, conversions, or renovations) preferred.
  • Background in adaptive reuse, historic tax credit projects, and financial analysis tools (Excel, Argus) is a plus.
  • Established industry network and experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
