Purpose:
The job holder delivers a quality, innovative residence life program that enhances the AUC experience and supervises and supports the residence life staff in problem-solving and crisis management. This position liaises with the Dean of Students and other directors within the student life area to provide a safe, secure, healthy, and positive living environment in AUC’s residences that enhances student development and learning.
Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:
Lead the development and delivery of a positive residential experience through housing operations, educational programs, and student engagement. Contribute to strategic planning and ensure alignment with student life goals. Oversee the maintenance and safety of student residences and promote a culture of responsibility and community living

Residence Officers Professional Development:
Recruit, train, and supervise Residence Officers (ROs) and Residence Advisors (RAs), supporting their professional growth and performance

Financial & Operational Oversight:
Manage the Residential Life budget, including financial forecasting and capital planning. Conduct market research and data analysis to guide revenue strategies and optimize occupancy. Monitor financial reports and implement corrective actions as needed

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:
Collaborate with Facilities, Housing, Security, and other campus partners to ensure effective residential operations. Align plans with Student Life leadership and foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee internal and external communications

Crisis Management & Compliance:
Implement and maintain emergency response protocols and student conduct policies. Ensure departmental compliance with university regulations, data privacy standards, and operational procedures

Staff Development & Support:
Supervise staff performance and goal-setting. Provide support and referral pathways for students facing personal or academic challenges

Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirements:

Master’s degree is required
Experience:
-
12–15 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years in progressively responsible roles managing student residential facilities
-
Demonstrated experience in all key aspects of residential life, including student programming, facility operations, and community development
