Job Role:

The Sr. Director, Unified Champion Schools and Developmental Sports is responsible for the strategic development and programmatic execution of all Special Olympics Florida’s Unified Champion Schools and Developmental Sports programming across the state. This includes the management and operational oversight of the following programs: Young Athletes, Little Elites, Motor Activity Program (MATP), Rising Stars, and Unified Champion Schools (UCS).

Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in Education, Business, Exercise and Sports Science, Physical Therapy or related field preferred.
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple individuals, tasks and demonstrate efficient time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong database management skills
• Grant management experience
• Strong budgeting and forecasting experience
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Regular attendance required

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight and management to all Developmental Sports Program Staff
• Direct oversight of Unified Champion Schools and Developmental Sports Program budget reporting for all relevant grants and funding sources including but not limited to the Special Olympics North America (SONA) and Department of Education (DOE) grants.
• Develop growth strategy to increase participation and retention of all Special Olympics Florida Unified Champion Schools and Developmental Sports Program offerings while ensuring quality metrics are consistently met
• Collaborate with Sr. Director of Sports and Operations to ensure consistent communication between Developmental Sports Program staff and Senior Manager of Unified Champion Schools, Health & Fitness
• Direct oversight of monthly, mid-term, and final reporting as well as the application process for applicable grants
• Ensure all goals as outlined in applicable grant applications are consistently achieved and exceeded
• Lead the development of strategies to transition Developmental Sports Programs to community-based programs
• Other duties as assigned

Special Requirements:

• Must be able to travel and complete weekend and evening duties as assigned
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Statewide travel (15-20%)
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
