Working Hours: 6:30 PM – 3:30 AM PKT (overlap with US teams)

Note: Passing the technical test is mandatory to proceed.

About the Role

ECOM Specialist LLC is seeking a Senior Django Developer with deep experience building and operating high-throughput, large-scale applications that process millions of records per hour. This role goes far beyond standard web development—you will be architecting, optimizing, and securing mission-critical systems that integrate with enterprise platforms like SAP.

You will play a key role in designing scalable backend systems, optimizing database performance, and ensuring enterprise-grade security, reliability, and observability.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Development

• Design and build high-performance, scalable backend systems using Django and Python.
• Architect solutions capable of handling large data volumes and high concurrency workloads.
• Develop and maintain modular, reusable, and production-grade codebases.
• Lead backend design decisions, including system architecture, data modeling, and API design (REST/GraphQL).

Data Engineering & Database Expertise

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-volume transactional systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain database stored procedures, triggers, and indexing strategies.
• Ensure efficient handling of millions of records/hour with minimal latency.
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) and understand query execution plans and tuning.

Performance & Optimization

• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across application layers (DB, API, workers).
• Implement caching strategies (Redis/Memcached) and asynchronous processing (Celery, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Optimize code and infrastructure for low latency, high throughput, and reliability.
• Conduct load testing and performance benchmarking.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and enforce secure coding practices and OWASP standards.
• Design systems with strong authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, especially in ERP-integrated environments.
• Perform code reviews with a focus on security vulnerabilities and risk mitigation.

Scalability & DevOps

• Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Design for horizontal scalability and fault tolerance.
• Monitor systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across US and Pakistan.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce best engineering practices.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Django/Python development (senior-level expertise).
• Proven experience building systems that handle high-volume data processing (millions of records/hour).
• Strong expertise in:
• Advanced SQL & query optimization
• Stored procedures, indexing, and database tuning
• Deep understanding of:
• System design & distributed systems
• Concurrency, parallel processing, and async architectures
• Hands-on experience with:
• Caching (Redis/Memcached)
• Task queues (Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Strong knowledge of application security and data protection.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments.

Nice-to-Have (Highly Valued)

• Experience integrating with SAP, ERP systems, or EDI platforms.
• Exposure to data pipelines, ETL processes, or event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with API gateways and enterprise integration patterns.

Work Requirements

• Full-time, exclusive commitment to ECOM Specialist LLC (mandatory)

(No parallel employment permitted)

• Must pass a technical assessment as part of the hiring process.
• Ability to work during Pakistan evening shift aligned with US teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs225,000.00 per month
