About the Role

This isn’t your typical "sit behind a desk and move commas" gig. As our Senior Editor, you’ll be a primary guardian of the brand voice. You’ll work directly with Kim to steer The Current and help lead the charge on Splash of AI, our weekly deep dive into the world of artificial intelligence.

We are looking for a pro who can demystify the latest tech shifts showing our audience how to use new tools, what to watch out for, and how technology can actually make their lives better. We don't just report on the future; we help people master it.

What You’ll Do

• Master the Voice: Own and evolve the editorial strategy in Kim’s signature voice: clear, clever, and consumer-first. Every story should feel like Kim is talking directly to a friend.
• Lead the Tech Conversation: Take complex developments and translate them into "helpful human" terms for our Splash of AI newsletter. You’ll help our readers stay ahead of the curve without the headache.
• Content Heavy Lifting: Oversee and contribute to the daily creation of content for The Current: top tech headlines, scams to avoid, and smart tips.
• Lead the Room: Manage a talented team of writers and freelancers with grace, grit, and a great sense of humor.
• Watch the Clock: Maintain editorial calendars and manage a high-volume workflow with sharp attention to deadlines. We don't miss "send" times.

What You Bring

• The Experience: At least 5 years of professional writing experience is required. You’ve been in the trenches of digital publishing and know how to craft a story that sticks.
• Tech & AI Literacy: You have a proven background in tech journalism. You understand how modern AI tools work, and you know how to explain them to someone who isn't a "techie."
• Editorial Chops: Impeccable writing, editing, and storytelling skills. You can take a dry white paper and turn it into a page-turner.
• Tech Stack: Experience with CMS platforms and email tools (Beehiiv experience is a huge plus), as well as data dashboards like Google Analytics.
• Presence: This is an In-Person position at our Phoenix, AZ studios. We believe the best creative sparks fly when the team is in the same room.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
