Senior Electrical Design Engineer -Consultancy Background

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Al-Marasem Development , you will play a key role in producing, reviewing, and coordinating electrical design deliverables. You will ensure technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and smooth integration with all disciplines, supporting projects from concept through execution.

Your responsibilities will encompass the following key areas:

Electrical Design & Documentation:

• Prepare and develop electrical design drawings and calculations (power, lighting, and low current systems).
• Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and load calculations.
• Prepare specifications, schedules, and bill of quantities (BOQs) for electrical systems.
• Review and respond to design comments, RFIs, and technical clarifications.

Coordination & Integration:

• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with mechanical and plumbing works.
• Attend regular design coordination meetings with consultants, clients, and internal teams.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure designs comply with local codes, authority regulations, and international standards.
• Implement quality assurance and quality control measures for all electrical design outputs.
• Ensure proper documentation for approvals, permits, and authority submissions.

Project Support & Value Engineering:

• Support value engineering exercises and design optimization.
• Provide technical guidance for cost-effective electrical solutions.
• Support tender, construction, and fit-out stages with technical reviews and clarifications.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:

• Identify and resolve design-related technical issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct design risk assessments and propose mitigation measures.

Reporting & Communication:

• Prepare design progress reports, meeting minutes, and technical notes.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4-7 years of experience as a Design Electrical Engineer within a consultancy background.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and low-current systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software.
• Familiarity with local codes, standards, and large-scale project requirements.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
