Senior Electrical Designer

We are looking for professionals with relevant experience in the sectors of Oil & Gas, Refining, Power Generation, and Petrochemicals, and who have good knowledge of the following activities:

Main Responsibilities / Duties :

• Prepare and review electrical design philosophies

• Develop electrical design deliverables (cable trays, power, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection)

• Prepare and review typical installation detail drawings

• Prepare electrical material take-offs (MTO)

• Manage engineering vendor data

• Design electrical substations

• Perform electrical design and 3D modeling using SP3D (SmartPlant 3D) and/or AVEVA E3D

• Interact and collaborate with other technical disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions

• Lead and coordinate highly complex, multidisciplinary electrical design activities

• Set priorities independently and make critical technical decisions within the electrical discipline

• Resolve complex design interferences and provide effective technical solutions

• Take full ownership of design quality and ensure compliance with project standards and established work methods

• Ensure quality assurance of electrical deliverables through internal reviews and defined procedures

• Act as the technical focal point for electrical design matters within the project team

• Functionally supervise and mentor junior designers

• Participate in strategic engineering decisions impacting project execution and long-term outcomes

• Negotiate and align technical solutions with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients when required

• Support electrical construction and commissioning teams

• Demonstrate strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards

Skills / Qualifications :

• Excellent English skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)

• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the electrical discipline within an engineering company

• Proven experience with AutoCAD, BricsCAD, and MicroStation

• Strong expertise in electrical design using SP3D

• Strong expertise in electrical design using AVEVA E3D

• Knowledge of lighting calculation software (e.g., Dialux)

• Solid understanding of other engineering disciplines and multidisciplinary coordination

• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage priorities in complex engineering environments

• Demonstrated experience in leading and coordinating design teams

• Strong capability in making high-impact technical decisions

• Experience in resolving complex technical conflicts and design interferences

• Experience in managing design quality assurance processes

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, project personnel, vendors, and clients

• Strategic communication and negotiation skills

• Experience as an electrical site designer

• Strong communication skills

• Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented
