Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, equipment, and solutions for various projects. This role involves providing technical expertise, overseeing engineering activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and mentoring junior engineers. The Senior Electrical Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective electrical engineering designs.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and specifications.
  • Conduct load calculations, short-circuit analysis, grounding studies, and system modeling.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).

Project Management

  • Manage electrical engineering aspects of projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Review and approve project deliverables, submittals, and shop drawings.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to junior engineers and designers.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Perform quality control reviews and ensure engineering best practices.

Construction & Commissioning Support

  • Support field operations, including site inspections, installation oversight, and testing.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure proper handover documentation and system integration.

QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 7–12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools, electrical modelling software, and BIM platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
