The Senior Electrical Engineer (MV/HV & Primary Substation) will represent the Client on site for all medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, including the Primary Substation located within the same plot as the factory. The role is critical to ensuring safe installation, testing, energization, and commissioning readiness of MV/HV systems supplying the factory.

Act as the Client’s on-site electrical engineering and site management representative for MV, HV, and Primary Substation works.

Provide technical leadership and client-side authority on all power supply, grid interface, and energization-related matters.

Review and comment on MV/HV and substation designs, shop drawings, protection philosophies, method statements, and material submittals.

Coordinate closely with the Controller / PMC company to align inspections, NCRs, and technical assessments.

Oversee and monitor execution of MV/HV systems, including:

Primary substation (HV/MV GIS or AIS)

Power transformers
-
MV switchgear (11kV / 33kV or project-specific voltage levels)

Protection relays and protection coordination
-
SCADA and control systems (electrical scope)

MV/HV cable systems, duct banks, and terminations

Interface with utility / grid authority

Ensure alignment between the Primary Substation Contractor and the factory electrical installation for seamless commissioning.

Witness and review testing and commissioning activities, including:

Transformer testing.

Protection relay testing and settings verification

MV/HV cable testing
-
Functional and interlock testing.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
10+ years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects
Experience working in a client-side or Consultant role
Proven ability to review and oversee General Contractor electrical works
Experience working alongside PMC / Controller companies
Prior experience in Oman or GCC countries is an advantage
