We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in overhead power line design for voltage levels ranging from 13.8, 34.5, and 69kV up to 380 kV. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering design packages in compliance with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) requirements or Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complete design packages for overhead transmission and distribution lines, including Sag and tension calculations, Stringing charts and profiles, Foundation and pole/tower design coordination.
• Prepare project scope, documents, engineering drawings, MR’s, BOQs, and technical specifications in accordance with client and international standards.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco and SEC codes, including clearance requirements and grounding practices.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and other disciplines for integrated project delivery.
• Conduct site surveys and technical reviews for design validation.
• Support procurement, vendor review and selection.
• Line profiling, overhead line design and optimization, route selection, rating assessment, criteria development, and verification of line and electrical designs.
• Stringing chart preparation, plan and profile drawing, line design review, and development of structure, clearance, insulator, and OPGW/EW drawings.
• Should have experience in FEED, Detail Design, Construction support and commissioning & handover.
• Obtain necessary approvals from Power Operations Department (POD), Saudi Electricity (SEC) and other regulatory.
• Design and selection of conductors, OPGW, and XLPE cables; calculation of current rating, short circuit, and voltage drop; familiar with installation accessories, joints, terminations; review of type/routine test reports and factory inspections. Relevant Standards/Certification: IEC 60228, 60502, 60840, 62067; CYMCAP, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and TOWER modelling.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Master’s is preferable), Minimum 10 years of experience in overhead power line design, Hands-on experience with Saudi Aramco and SEC standards for transmission and distribution systems, Proficiency in design software for line modeling and analysis (e.g., PLS-CADD). Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• Membership in Saudi Council of Engineers

• PE certification
