Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. The candidate will be partially based in the office (location to be agreed following appointment) and partially on site, and will report directly to the Senior Asset Planning Engineer in the Asset Planning Maintenance Team.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review strategy for best practice for replacement, maintenance, and inspection of LV, MV and generators.
  • Work closely with Asset Planning Engineer for the prioritisation and identification of critical electrical risks.
  • Work closely with Infrastructure Delivery, Operational and Health & Safety teams to develop mitigation requirements on electrical risks.
  • Review remediation works undertaken by delivery partners for continuous improvement.
  • Attend Working Groups on Electrical issues where required.
  • Play a key role in stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support in managing the risks associated with Electrical Systems.
  • Support to ensure legal compliance with Electrical regulation.
  • Support in enhancing its electrical systems strategy.
  • Performing other such duties in relation to work and asset management as required.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with Electrical engineering qualification or Electrical trades qualification and relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules from IEC and EN Standards in accordance with Part 3 of the 2007 Safety Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations and other relevant legislation.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of CompEx (meaning - Competency working in Explosive atmospheres) with respect to electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of water/waste or relevant industrial sites.
  • Proven track record in dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Clean driver license and ability to travel nationally to UÉ sites.
