We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining safe and reliable operations across commercial, industrial, or residential facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in power distribution systems, lighting systems, control panels, motors, and associated equipment.
- Inspect, test, and maintain switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, MCCs, DBs, and electrical circuits.
- Troubleshoot electrical control systems and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Install, modify, and commission electrical equipment and systems as required.
- Monitor electrical system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, codes, and company procedures.
- Conduct testing using electrical measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment documentation.
- Supervise and guide junior technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
- Coordinate planned maintenance schedules and shutdown activities.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and power-related issues.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe work practices at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma, Technical Certificate, or Trade Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control circuits, and industrial electrical equipment.
- Experience with switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, MCCs, VFDs, and motor controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, control, and instrumentation-related faults.
- Proficient in reading electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and asset management practices.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work systems.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead maintenance teams and supervise junior technicians.
- Computer literacy and experience using CMMS or maintenance management software is an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in facilities management, commercial buildings, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, hotels, airports, or large residential developments.
- Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), ELV systems, and automation controls is an advantage.
- Experience with electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Experience supervising maintenance teams and coordinating contractors.
