What you’ll do:

The key function of this role is to support project tenders from initial review through final quotation to ensure project requirements are adequately met. The Senior Electrical Tender Engineer will be a critical player in helping Eaton deliver winning, profitable bids that have a clear scope of work with accurate technical and commercial commitments. This role will require interpreting technical packages (drawings, specifications) to identify where Eaton's offers fit and to ensure alignment including agreed CDE's (Comply-Deviate-Exceptions) for all the technical aspects of a tender.

This role will be office based and would require good communication and organization of work to serve a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders while meeting agreed turn around times. This individual should be an electrical infrastructure expert who has worked in and around large projects and understands the type of challenges these projects present.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze incoming RFQs (Request For Quotation) from Customer
  • Determine Eaton's product's ability to meet customer requirements through the interpretation of tender documents and clarifying communication with both customers and internal product support owners.
  • Ensure Eaton’s offer is aligning technically with customer specifications, and participate in the go/no-go meetings.
  • Ensure CDE’s (Comply, Deviate, Exception) documents are complete and that the final Eaton offer matches technically the customer's requirements.
  • Coordinate with sales, applications, consultants, product owners, and the wider tender team to ensure that Eaton bids are compelling and give customers confidence in the offer proposed.
  • Assist in preparation of costing as per standard process and tools.
  • Support the development and review of offer documentation such that it is consistent with what is offered and customer requirements.
  • Ensure that specifications of equipment meets the customer’s requirements and needs.
  • Meet agreed timelines for tenders and keep stakeholders aware of progress and any constraints.
  • Perform technical risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Prepare for the tender review and assure the right submission deliverables to our strategic customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Masters (BSc/MSc) degree or equivalent in a related field (Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
  • 7+ years of engineering and design experience of electrical distribution system networks in a Services & Projects business within large scale installation for Commercial & Industrial type projects. Data Center or similar critical power system experience strongly desirable.

Skills:

  • Medium Voltage Primary & Secondary electrical power
  • Primary & Secondary electrical power
  • Power Distribution Systems and components design and requirements for MV and LV
  • Uninterrupted Power Supplies and/or backup power strongly desired
  • Eaton or similar industry product portfolio (Switchgear, LV assemblies, UPS, etc.)
  • Automation (e.g. SCADA, other control systems). Knowledge for Design Configuration & Commissioning a strong plus.
  • Strong technical (electrical) and problem solving skills
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives and solving problem, and an ability to negotiate and drive alignment on technical designs
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication and influencing skills, and a people/customer-centric approach
  • Fluent English (technical), and French/German/Spanish/Italian (read, write, speak) would be strongly preferred
  • A high level of personal integrity and ethics and commitment to doing business right
