Job Summary
A well-established legal group is seeking a Senior Employment Law Attorney with extensive experience defending public K-12 and higher education institutions in employment-related litigation. This is a high-level role for a seasoned litigator with strong trial experience, deep knowledge of employment law in the public education sector, and the ability to manage complex cases from start to finish.

Duties

  • Lead and manage complex employment litigation matters for public school districts, colleges, and universities.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial.
  • Provide strategic advice and representation in employment-related disputes involving public education employers.
  • Develop case strategies and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and legal staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of employment law experience, ideally within public sector litigation
  • Demonstrated trial experience defending public school districts or education entities
  • Extensive background in litigation, including depositions, motions, hearings, and trial prep
  • Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills
  • Familiarity with the legal landscape governing California public agencies and education employers

Work Environment

  • 90% remote (California-based attorneys preferred)
  • Occasional in-person work required at one of 10 office locations (El Segundo, Fresno, Oakland, Ontario, Orange, Redding, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Westlake Village)

Job Type: Full-time

Projected Total Compensation: $230,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
