Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Chartered Engineer (preferred but not mandatory)
Experience

15+ years in electrical engineering within oil & gas industry
-
Minimum 7 years in commissioning roles
-
Strong experience in PMC or EPC projects
-
Prior experience in ADNOC or Middle East offshore/onshore projects highly preferred
-
Experience on island/offshore remote sites (like Das Island) is an advantage
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

Power distribution systems

Protection relays (ABB, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)

HV switching and synchronization

Familiar with commissioning tools and test equipment

Job Description
Scope of work:
Lead and oversee all electrical commissioning activities for oil & gas facilities on Das Island, ensuring systems are safely commissioned, tested, and handed over in compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international codes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commissioning Planning & Coordination
-
Review and validate commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.

Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and operations teams.
-
Ensure readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
-
Commissioning procedures & plans
-
System handover certificates
-
Energization approvals
-
Commissioning dossiers
2. Electrical Systems Commissioning
-
Supervise commissioning of:
-
HV/MV/LV switchgear
-
Transformers
-
UPS systems & battery banks
-
Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
-
Electrical drives and motors
-
Earthing & lightning protection systems
-
Witness FAT, SAT, and site acceptance tests.
3. Pre-Commissioning & Testing
-
Ensure proper execution of:
-
Cable testing (IR, Hi-Pot, continuity)
-
Relay protection testing and coordination
-
Functional and loop checks
-
Verify system completion and punch list clearance.
4. Compliance & Standards
-
Ensure all activities comply with:
-
ADNOC standards
-
IEC / IEEE standards
-
Project specifications and HSE requirements
-
Enforce PTW (Permit to Work) and LOTO procedures.
5. Interface Management
-
Act as focal point between:
-
EPC contractor
-
Client (ADNOC)
-
Operations & maintenance teams
-
Support smooth system handover and startup.
6. Documentation & Reporting
-
Review and approve:
-
Commissioning dossiers
-
Test reports and check sheets
-
As-built drawings
-
Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
7. Troubleshooting & Support
-
Identify and resolve electrical issues during commissioning.
-
Provide technical guidance for system energization and startup.
