Senior Engineer - OCS

Perform technical calculations such as mechanical loading, support spacing, and clearance verification. —
Analyze and interpret study results to inform design decisions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. —
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system integration and resolve interface issues. —
Prepare engineering OCS design drawings, including plan and profile drawings, cross sections, and support arrangements. —
Prepare technical specifications, bills of quantities (BOQs), and installation drawings. —
Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases. —
Develop and review test and commissioning procedures. a
nd validate engineering drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and compliance reports. —
Build and providing ongoing technical guidance and project updates throughout the lifecycle. —
Ensure designs comply with railway electrification standards, especially the North American railway electrification standards, including AREMA, CSA, and applicable provincial regulations. —
Use MicroStation and other CAD modelling platforms for detailed design. Familiarity with additional OCS-related or rail electrification software is considered an asset. —
Depending on experience level, take on increasing responsibility for task coordination, technical leadership, and mentoring of junior staff and securing the work engagement for the team. M
ANDATORY SKILLS —
Experience with structural analysis or rail-specific design tools. —
Involvement in the preparation or review of construction, testing, and commissioning documentation. —
Understanding of traction power system integration and interface with signaling, civil, and communications systems. —
Demonstrating independent design capability, cross-disciplinary coordination, and field experience to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions that meet client and regulatory expectations —
In-depth knowledge of Canadian and international transit standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., AREMA, CSA, etc.). —
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills —
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, specifications, and client-facing documentation. —
Proficiency in CAD software, especially MicroStation. —
Familiarity with other CAD platforms such as Bentley, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit for electrical design documentation is an asset.
