Senior Engineer- Product Design and Development

What you’ll do:

Support Design & Development of products such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), micro data centers, and server racks, and create product BOM in SAP and release for manufacturing. Responsible for customized solutions, lias with sales and customers for design approval.To Be Quality concious during the design inception stage to ensure reliability and consistency in delivering results. Work on VAVE/ Feature addition as well as Quality improvement projects on the products, Localization support and validation is also included.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for UPS, micro data centers, and server racks.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
• Perform thermal and structural analysis to ensure product reliability and compliance.
• Collaborate with electrical and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
• Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and cost targets are met.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, UL, RoHS).
• Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Continuously improve design processes and contribute to innovation initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education - BE/ B.Tech
• Experience - Min. 4-6 years experience on Creo and Solidworks platform in Sheet metal domain and AutoCAD for GA, SLD and layout design.

Skills:

• Expertise in Sheet metal designs, preferred in UPS products.
• Demonstrating in 3D Modelling, 2D drafting & detailing standards using Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and proficient in PLM fundamentals.
• Knowledge in Material Selection of Electro-mechanical products (Steel, Copper, Stainless Steel, Brass ,Epoxy, Thermoset).
• Knowledge of product BOM preparation and structuring in SAP.
• Follow standards IEC, ISO, ANSI, and ASME & ASTM for all relevant product designs.
• Provide specialist support on sheet metal & enclosure design, Molding design, press parts, strength of materials and fasteners to help the team deliver projects in time.
• Provide Engineering support in creating manufacturing processes on New/VAVE/Custom solution products.
• Support to Identify/ Develop new vendors for the Localization projects.
• Well conversed in ECN/ECO process.
• Manufacturing Industry Exposure like Fabrication/ Machining and molding.
• Work Collaborate within Functional team and Cross functional team for the project deliverables
• Participate and support to achieve cost out and CI culture.
• Support to achieve NPD and plant High 5 Metrics.
• Support Marketing literature & Brochure preparation.
• Good communication and Presentation skills and Project handling with cross funcitonal interaction
