The Senior Cost Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and validating cost estimates for projects during tendering, pre-contract, and post-contract phases. This role ensures that all cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project planning and scheduling requirements to support effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation & Analysis

Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, infrastructure, and construction projects, including materials, manpower, equipment, subcontracting, and indirect costs.

Analyze project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and other documents to develop accurate cost breakdowns.

Perform quantity take-offs and validate with engineering teams.

Review and benchmark estimates against historical project data and market trends.

Prepare cost comparison reports, value engineering proposals, and cost optimization suggestions.
Planning & Coordination

Work closely with the planning team to align cost estimates with project schedules.

Support preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts, and resource plans.

Coordinate with procurement and contracts teams for updated material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

Participate in project risk assessments and develop cost contingency recommendations.
Tender & Bid Support

Support tendering department during bid preparation with accurate cost inputs.

Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for cost competitiveness and compliance.

Assist in preparing technical and commercial bid submissions.
Post-Contract Support

Support cost control during project execution by comparing actual vs. estimated costs.

Provide cost-to-complete forecasts and variance analysis reports.

Contribute to claims preparation, change order pricing, and commercial negotiations.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.

Minimum
8–12 years
of experience in cost estimation and planning within construction/infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, tendering processes, and cost control principles.

Proficiency in estimation software (Candy/CCS, CostX, or equivalent), MS Excel, and Primavera P6.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
