Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Interior Division. The role is responsible for leading the tendering and estimation process for interior fit-out projects, managing the estimation team, and ensuring accurate, competitive, and compliant bid submissions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, commercial, and leadership experience within interior contracting.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Tendering & Estimation Leadership
- Lead and manage the full tendering and estimation process for interior fit-out projects
- Supervise and guide the Estimation team, including QSs responsible for quantity take-offs
- Review tender documents, define estimation strategy, and finalize tender pricing
- Ensure all tender submissions meet technical, commercial, and contractual requirements
- Conduct final review of tender documents and ensure deadlines are met
Technical & Commercial Evaluation
- Study, analyze, and evaluate RFPs, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify risks and discrepancies
- Coordinate with Estimation Manager / Management for overall risk assessment and bid decisions
- Prepare and review Technical & Commercial Evaluation sheets and comparison reports
- Clarify discrepancies with clients/consultants to ensure accurate pricing
Costing & Pricing
- Prepare and finalize detailed cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs
- Build up unit rates considering labor, materials, subcontractor pricing, overheads, and profit
- Prepare and review BOQs for management approval
- Identify items/trades requiring RFQs and coordinate pricing accordingly
- Propose and develop Value Engineering solutions to optimize project cost without impacting employer requirements
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with Procurement to negotiate with approved suppliers and subcontractors (pre- and post-tender)
- Coordinate with:
- Planning Manager for preliminary programs and method statements
- QHSE Manager for project safety requirements
- MEP team for MEP scope, pricing, and mobilization requirements
- Attend site visits, pre-tender, and post-tender meetings
Post-Tender & Documentation
- Confirm final project price with Management
- Prepare and hand over complete tender documentation upon project award to:
- Project Director / Project Manager
- Planning, Cost Control, MEP, QHSE, Project Team, and Document Control
- Maintain and update tender status reports
- Ensure proper filing, retrieval, and management of records through EDMS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in estimation, with strong exposure to interior fit-out projects
- Proven experience in senior or lead estimator role within a contracting company
- Strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, joinery, and fit-out systems
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and estimation tools
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with large-scale or fast-track interior projects
- GCC/UAE market experience
