OVERVIEW:
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a highly capable, forward-thinking individual to serve as a strategic partner to a senior member of the firm. This individual will enable high-functioning operations by anticipating needs, exercising exceptional judgment, and driving key initiatives that advance Executive Committee priorities. WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

Manage a broad range of responsibilities supporting both strategic and administrative needs.

Maintain complex and dynamic calendars, prioritize and triage incoming communications, requests, and deliverables, and serve as a liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Coordinate travel, meetings, and events with precision, providing high-quality administrative support ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

Gain opportunities to own ad hoc projects that require proactive problem-solving, along with select personal support to ensure alignment between professional and personal commitments.
Who We're Looking For

A bachelor’s degree or higher in any academic field and at least 12–15 years of work experience, along with a demonstrated talent in academic and/or professional endeavors.

We welcome applicants from a wide range of professional backgrounds; no prior finance experience is required. Experience in client services or other customer-focused roles is a meaningful plus.

Flexibility and diligence with well-developed organizational, analytical, time management, and multitasking skills.

Excellent judgement, meticulous attention to detail, and keen written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to manage confidential information with the utmost discretion is critical.

The expected annual base salary for this position is $175,000 to $220,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, overtime for all hours worked over 40 per week, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
