Senior Exploration Geologist

Muscat, Oman

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1.

Lead and oversee comprehensive exploration programs—including geological mapping, sampling, drilling, and geophysical surveys—to achieve discovery and resource development objectives.

2.

Collect, integrate, and interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify prospective targets and optimize exploration strategies.

3.

Develop and maintain robust 3D geological models and technical reports to support informed decision-making and resource evaluation.

4.

Ensure and enforce strict compliance with QA/QC, safety, and environmental standards to uphold operational integrity and minimize risk.

5.

Supervise and mentor exploration teams and contractors to enhance technical performance, knowledge transfer, and execution consistency.

6.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal departments, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to align exploration objectives with corporate priorities.

7.

Represent and report exploration outcomes and project performance to management and partners to facilitate strategic planning and investment decisions.

Principal Challenges:

1.

Integrating multidisciplinary datasets across diverse geological terrains to identify economically viable targets.

2.

Balancing short-term exploration goals with long-term resource development priorities.

3.

Managing field operations in remote and logistically challenging environments while maintaining

safety and productivity standards.

Minimum Academic / Professional Qualification:

1.

Master’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

2.

Professional registration or certification in mining, geology, or project management is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience:

Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with several years in senior or project management roles.

Pay: RO4,000.000 - RO5,000.000 per month
