Job Summary

The Assistant Accounting Manager will be a key member of the Finance Department, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions and reports. This role involves comprehensive supervision of daily accounting operations, meticulous review of all ledger entries, and direct management of the accounting team. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in full-cycle accounting, financial software (e.g., Zoho Books), and local compliance requirements (e.g., UAE VAT).

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting and Transactional Oversight

• Transaction Review: Meticulously check and verify all daily, weekly, and monthly accounting entries prepared by the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger postings.
• Month-End/Year-End: Assist in the preparation and finalization of month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all schedules and reconciliations are accurate and timely.
• System Integrity: Ensure the chart of accounts and all financial system structures are correctly maintained within the company's accounting software (Zoho Books).

2. Reporting and Analysis

• Report Generation: Prepare accurate and insightful financial reports for the Finance Manager, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and key operational expense reports.
• Variance Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data, explaining variances between actual results, budget, and prior periods.
• Management Reporting: Produce custom management reports related to operational efficiency, such as parts inventory cost analysis, battery sales margins, and service center profitability.

3. Team Management and Leadership

• Team Supervision: Directly supervise a team of three Accountants, providing daily guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Task Assignment & Delegation: Efficiently assign and delegate daily accounting tasks to the team, ensuring even workload distribution and timely completion of all deliverables.
• Procedure Implementation: Enforce and improve existing financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

4. Compliance and Audit Assistance

• Tax Compliance: Support the Finance Manager in preparing necessary schedules and documentation for UAE Corporate Tax and periodic VAT submissions.
• Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing required documentation and providing comprehensive explanations for accounts and transactions. Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g.,ACCA) is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role. Experience in the automotive service or retail sector is a strong asset.

Technical Skills:

• Mandatory proficiency in Zoho Books (or similar cloud-based ERP/Accounting software).
• Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Solid understanding of UAE accounting standards (IFRS) and tax laws (VAT, Corporate Tax).
• Core Competencies: Strong leadership, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, close attention to detail, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
