The Senior Accountant — FP&A is a key strategic partner helping leadership understand the story behind the numbers—and use it to make smarter decisions. This role blends strong accounting fundamentals with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, KPI development, and scenario modeling to support sustainable growth, efficiency, and member value.
You’ll work closely with the Controller, CFO, and business leaders to evaluate performance, identify trends and risks, and translate complex financial information into actionable insights. - Lead/support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning.

Build and maintain financial models (scenario, sensitivity, break-even, ROI) to evaluate initiatives and investment opportunities.

Develop, monitor, and explain KPIs, trends, and drivers (member growth, loan/share performance, margin/earnings, expense efficiency, etc.).

Prepare clear, decision-ready analysis and present recommendations to senior leadership.

Partner with departments to improve financial performance, resource planning, and accountability.
- Manage daily/weekly/monthly general ledger certifications, research variances, and resolve discrepancies across core systems and departments.

Lead/support month-end and year-end close, including preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.

Oversee/coordinate bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.

Produce and enhance recurring reporting packages that connect results to business drivers.
- Support internal/external audits and exams by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses.

Assist with regulatory reporting, including quarterly Call Reports and annual Form 990 support.

Identify financial risks and recommend controls/process improvements to strengthen accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Mentor and support accounting staff; share best practices and help build a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborate across teams with a “business partner” mindset—curious, clear, and solutions-oriented.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred.

3+ years experience in accounting and/or FP&A; financial institution experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial institution accounting, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Advanced skills in tools such as Excel (required); experience with Great Plains, Power BI, or similar platforms preferred.

Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial audiences.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities with integrity and discretion.
