Senior Financial Analyst

Williams & Connolly LLP, recognized as one of the world's premier litigation firms, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Senior Financial Analyst. Under the direction of the Legal Pricing and Financial Analysis Manager, the position is responsible but not limited to:

  • Support Partners, Management team, and RFP team in developing innovative solutions to improve profitability, enhance realization rates, drive favorable pricing outcomes and alternative fee arrangements; providing analysis and reporting regarding benchmarking, revenue recognition, cost management, and operational efficiency; recommending improvements in technology utilization.
  • Perform financial analysis to support pricing strategies, client profitability, and resource allocation using both established and new, creative approaches.
  • Assist in responding to requests for proposals specific to pricing strategies; prepare pricing estimates.
  • Develop models to provide timely and relevant management information to drive improvement in financial results and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare a variety of monthly management reports and contribute to the preparation of executive-level presentations and reports.
  • Assist in the Firm's annual budget process, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting performance against plan.
  • Utilizes client, industry, and peer survey data to make recommendations and engage in the Firm's annual rate setting process.
  • Utilize financial tools and systems to improve forecasting accuracy, delivery and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to develop custom reporting solutions to address unique needs of Partners, Clients, and other Firm staff; Work with a mindset of process improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Performs other duties, as requested and assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of financial analysis experience; prior work in financial services, or law firms preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Suite applications and experience with Aderant or other financial systems is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and effectively summarize and communicate information to assist with business solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the following:
  • Prolonged periods using a sit-to-stand desk and working on a computer.
  • Repetitive movements, including typing on a keyboard and using a mouse.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
  • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
New employees are required to work from the office during the first 30 days of employment. After successfully completing the introductory period, the accounting and finance department is required to be in the office twice a week. The firm continuously evaluates schedules to best support our attorneys and their clients and as a result, hybrid arrangements are subject to change.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000. This is an exempt position. The hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required. The final offer amount is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and other relevant skills and qualifications.
