Job Summary and Qualifications

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst / DSS Coordinator will be responsible for providing strategic reporting and analytics to hospital and division leadership by analyzing operational volumes, expense & service utilization, and the competitive position in the marketplace.

In collaboration with the DSS Leaders, Strategic Planning Directors and facility administrators, the DSS Coordinator will act as a strategic informational resource for hospitals and Division teams by providing ongoing reporting and analysis on key business and operations measures. Coordinators will support multiple hospitals simultaneously and have the assistance of DSS Analysts to provide the needed information to customers in a timely manner. Ongoing reporting will focus primarily on operational and volume information by looking at various metrics in the hospital. Coordinators will reconcile and maintain cost accounting databases on a quarterly basis for the supported facilities and provide resource utilization reporting to analyze expense management. Coordinators are responsible for providing hospitals with information about their competitive position in their respective communities compared to other service providers. In addition to diverse reporting responsibilities, Coordinators will also train, develop, and mentor DSS Analysts to attain the same level of technical proficiency, analytical competency, and customer service delivery. Lastly, Coordinators will learn development and database management techniques required to maintain our SQL server and other data tools.

What you will do in this role:

  • Ensure accuracy in daily reporting duties.
  • Assist in performing quality assurance on reporting both own work and peers.
  • Validate different sources of information as needed.
  • Assume accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
  • Maintain a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and organize ad-hoc data as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital leaders and stakeholders.
  • Support peers in a collaborative environment.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to elevate work.
  • Train new team members.
  • Meet with facility leaders to understand strategy.
  • Review hospital competitive position in marketplace.
  • Develop new reporting to facilitate growth and deepen understanding.
  • Support hospital leaders in understanding financial impacts of decisions.
  • Understand hospital accounting and costing cycles.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related major preferred.
  • 2-3 Years of SQL Server Experience required.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare business office or equivalent DSS related work required.
  • 2-3 Years of Supporting Data Analytics experience required.
