Salary: $21.50 per hour (40 hours per week)

Located in beautiful downtown Boise, the Capital Mall Campus

Purpose of Position

This position performs a variety of para-professional financial duties including the development of and maintenance of records, documents, reports, and financial data. This position also reviews financial documents and records for accuracy and compliance to support the invoice payment process. Engages in the Ticket to Work and Social Security Cost Reimbursement process to support IDVR in acquiring Social Security program income.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepares, reconciles, and balances financial transactions related to accounts payable and account receivable. Identifies and corrects errors and discrepancies
  • Determines appropriate cost allocations based on agency projects/funds, available appropriations, and knowledge of direct versus indirect expense types
  • Maintains logs, ledgers, and journals to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal financial and procurement requirements
  • Reviews, completes, and processes financial documents ensuring their compliance with laws, regulations, and policies prior to seeking approval of the payment. Completes payment process within scope of authority
  • Follows-up with vendors regarding invoicing in need of additional and/or corrected data
  • Processes interagency billing for payments and initiates the processing of incoming payments
  • Engages in Cost Reimbursement and Ticket to Work program reimbursement activities. Develops and maintains working knowledge of Cost Reimbursement and Ticket to Work requirements including applicable laws, policies, and procedures
  • Accesses and reviews data from the State Verification Exchange System (SVES) to prepare reimbursement packages that meet Social Security and Ticket to Work Standards. Acts as the primary IDVR contact with Social Security for reimbursement claims
  • Transmits Cost Reimbursement claims to Social Security using the Ticket Tracker program.
  • Requests and reviews quarterly wage data from Department of Labor to verify if claimant’s wages meet substantial gainful activity thresholds and are eligible for reimbursement
  • Ensures participant tickets are placed in use SVR status or are assigned to IDVR to support eligibility for cost reimbursement claims
  • Prepares reports detailing potential eligible claims, denials, and potential funds available to support strategic budget decisions by IDVR leadership
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (MQs ):

Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Good knowledge of financial record keeping methods

The above knowledge is typically gained by a bachelor’s degree in accounting principles or 2 years of work experience performing financial record keeping activities, including maintaining, reconciling, and verifying financial data using established methods and procedures, or a combination of education and work experience

Experience:

  • Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports
  • Using personal computers (Microsoft 365 applications) to retrieve, edit, and analyze financial data

MQs Specialties:

  • Experience working in a position with responsibility to ensure the confidentiality and security of Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
  • Must receive a favorable Suitability Determination from the Social Security Administration prior to completion of the probationary period
