Position: Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer
Location: Doha, Qatar
Job Summary:
The Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all Fire & Life Safety (FLS) activities across company facilities and projects. The role ensures full compliance with QCDD, NFPA, and applicable international standards, overseeing both active fire systems (fire alarm, firefighting, suppression, emergency lighting) and passive fire protection systems. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to maintain the highest level of safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all active fire protection systems, including fire alarms, firefighting, suppression, and emergency lighting systems.
- Ensure compliance with QCDD regulations, NFPA standards, and company safety policies.
- Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PPM) plans, inspection checklists, and testing schedules for all FLS systems.
- Oversee fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance, and functionality testing of fire protection and life safety systems.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of passive fire protection measures such as fire doors, fire-stopping, and compartmentation.
- Verify the performance and testing of smoke management systems, including pressurization fans and exhaust systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and QCDD officials for technical clarifications, inspections, and renewals.
- Prepare and maintain all FLS-related documentation including method statements, risk assessments, test reports, and QCDD certificates.
- Conduct fire drills, safety awareness sessions, and provide technical support during risk assessments.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to FLS procedures and standards.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure all activities comply with statutory and company regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire Protection Engineering.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Fire & Life Safety systems within Facilities Management or Construction.
- QCDD-certified or eligible for QCDD approval (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA, QCDD, and other relevant international safety standards.
- Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems.
- Strong understanding of passive fire protection and smoke management systems.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and related engineering tools.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Valid Qatari driving license (preferred).
