The House Next Door is seeking a Senior Fiscal Specialist who believes family is the foundation as We Nurture and Empower Families to build Stronger Communities.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or GED required, with 5–10 years of progressively responsible fiscal and administrative experience, including data entry, budgeting support, financial forecasting, and trend identification.
· Considerable experience in professional administrative and fiscal functions is preferred, with demonstrated knowledge of confidentiality standards and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tracking tools. Attention to detail and strong math skills required.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively use modern office system technologies, including computing systems, electronic communications, financial reporting tools, and records management systems.
· Must have valid Florida driver's license, current auto insurance and be approved as a driver by HND’s insurance carrier.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Medicaid billing and follow up. Posting of EOB’s, uploading Medicaid eligibility forms into client profiles, follow up on Evolv held claims.
· Reviews benefits assignment report on a bi-weekly bases, follow up on clients with missing assignments and any errors in benefits assignments.
· Input journal entries.
· Manage LHND tuition and ELC parent Co-pays.
· Provide back up for Bookkeeper.
· Assist Controller in creating program budgets.
· Financial forecasting.
· Monitor budget performance and recommend adjustments based on trends and operational changes.
· Translate complex financial data into actionable information for non‑financial stakeholders.
· Forecast grant spending timelines to ensure funding sustainability and compliance.
· Assist with cost allocation models and indirect cost calculations.
· Ensure financial data integrity through reconciliation and internal controls
· Serve as a financial thought partner to leadership and program teams.
· Forecast short‑ and long‑term cash flow needs, including timing of grant reimbursements and contract payments.
· Support audit preparation and compliance reporting related to grants and nonprofit regulations.
· Continuously improve financial processes to increase efficiency, transparency, and reliability.
· Assist Controller with journal entries, general ledger and annual audit.
· Reconcile customer accounts to ensure balances are accurate.
· Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.
· Perform aging reviews to track outstanding receivables.
· Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
· Monthly reconciliation of all payroll fringes, (Healthcare, Aflac, Life Insurance).
· Back up for Controller in presenting financials to Board of Directors.
· Other related duties as assigned.
BENEFITS:
Hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. After training, Mondays are a work from home day.
120 hours of paid time off in your first year of employment, increasing to 200 hours for years 2 – 5, 225 hours for years 6 – 10 and 240 hours after 11 plus years. 10 paid holidays per year.
