This is responsible supervisory, technical, and administrative work which includes directing the activities of shop supervisors, chief mechanics, journeyman equipment mechanics, and other skilled and semi-skilled employees engaged in the repair, maintenance, overhaul, modification, reconditioning and servicing of vehicles and equipment. Work also includes revising and monitoring preventive maintenance and overhaul schedules; preparing and maintaining repair and cost records; creating, maintaining, and analyzing detailed reports on work and repairs made on equipment and vehicles to ensure efficiency and accuracy of work and repairs completed. The selected applicant for this position will drive multiple shop efficiencies by adjusting workflows, monitoring metrics, application of, planning, organization, development, and scheduling of assigned tasks to employees. An employee in this class participates in the selection, placement, promotion, safety, training, appraisal, and discipline of assigned employees. Work requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments.
Salary: $73,036 - $117,013
