THE DIVISION

4GL Solutions is a software company that has been in business since 1984 and specializes in the development and distribution of ERP software for Steel Service Centers in North America and Internationally. The rapid growth of this company has led to several key positions opening. We are seeking bright, motivated individuals to fill these positions and become part of our team of experts.

THE POSITION

We’re looking for a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Full Stack Web Developer to help drive the evolution of our web-based customer portal platform and future mobile-ready apps. This role combines deep technical execution with architectural influence. You will play a central part in shaping our technical direction, setting high standards for code quality, and ensuring our systems scale to meet the needs of our growing customer base.

As a senior member of the team, you will work side by side with our current developers, leading by example through design decisions, high-quality code, and collaborative problem solving.

The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a co-architect, influencing the design of scalable backend APIs, system architecture, and data flows integrated with an Oracle database.
• Establish and uphold best practices for code quality, testing, and maintainability across the development team.
• Drive architectural discussions, evaluate new technologies, and make recommendations that balance innovation with long-term stability.
• Lead by example through peer reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with our other web developers, sharing best practices and jointly developing features.
• Develop and enhance our customer portal and upcoming PWA/mobile web applications using React, Next.js, and Node.js, contributing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Assist in shaping development processes and standards as we expand our web ecosystem.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer or equivalent in a production environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with strong experience in React and Next.js.
• Deep experience in Node.js backend development and building scalable APIs.
• Proficient in configuring and managing Nginx.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with Oracle or similar relational databases.
• Proven experience influencing technical architecture and long-term system design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to collaborate effectively in a small-team, low-bureaucracy setting.
• Comfortable with autonomy and accountability in delivering critical projects.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts and tooling (CI/CD pipelines, containerization, cloud infrastructure) is a plus but not required.
