Senior Full Stack Engineer

The Jaeb Center for Health Research is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain secure web applications and APIs that support clinical research operations and reporting. This role partners closely with research staff, leadership, and other engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable software and contribute to technical architecture, development decisions, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include:

Design, develop, and implement end-to-end features across the web application stack, including user interfaces, backend services, and data layers.
Build and maintain TypeScript-based front-end applications using Angular, React, or comparable modern frameworks.
Develop and maintain secure REST APIs using C#/.NET.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and research requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
Design and optimize relational database schemas, queries, and data access layers (SQL Server preferred).
Implement role-based access control and secure handling of sensitive or regulated data.
Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, including build automation and deployments.
Develop systems with logging and monitoring and investigate defects and performance issues.
Produce clear technical documentation for systems and integrations.

Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of professional software development experience delivering production systems.
Strong experience with TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
Experience building REST APIs using C#/.NET or a comparable backend stack.
Experience with relational databases (SQL Server preferred), including schema design and query optimization.
Demonstrated experience writing automated tests and working within CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of secure coding practices and authentication/authorization concepts.
Proficiency with Git-based workflows and collaborative code review.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and take ownership of deliverables.

Salary will be commensurate with degree and experience and includes an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $135,000, with total compensation, including benefits, ranging from $135,000 to $165,000. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position; relocation to the Tampa Bay area is not required.
