Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise for geotechnical studies and design.
  • Assist in business development efforts, preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Serve as the Project s point of contact with clients, local authorities and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
  • Plan, supervise (if required) and lead geotechnical investigations and design activities.
  • Performs on technically complex projects and acts as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.
  • Perform and review geotechnical engineering analyses.
  • Basic knowledge of Project management including scope, budget, schedule and resource management.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Undertake geotechnical assessments and check using specialized softwares such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, PLAXIS 2D and 3D, Pdisp, Repute and Wallap.
  • Understand materials testing objectives, construction drawings and design reports to support geotechnical investigation and design recommendations.
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations and reports for projects relating to foundation design, infrastructure, shoring, retaining walls, slope stability, road structure design, materials testing, and other geotechnical related projects.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 10 - 12 years Work experience as a Geotechnical Engineer within middle east.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, writing, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Very good understanding of drilling methods, field investigations, and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Demonstrated basic Project Management skills including scheduling and budgeting and the ability to lead, train and mentor junior staff.
  • Appropriate experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, site supervision and administration.
  • Ability to travel to sites (if required).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop excellent client relationships and a positive staff working environment.
  • Experience writing in Earthworks and foundation designs.
  • Interpretation of Ground investigations.
  • Registered with ICE as chartered engineer is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
  • Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
