Job Title: Senior Quality Control (QC) Engineer

Job Summary:
The Senior QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure that all construction activities meet the required standards and specifications. With 12–15 years of experience, the ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of quality management systems, inspection and testing procedures, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong leadership in guiding junior QC staff, interfacing with project stakeholders, and ensuring that construction outputs are consistent with contractual and legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project-specific QC plans, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and checklists in coordination with the QA/QC Manager.
- Monitor and inspect ongoing construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Review material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests to ensure alignment with contract documents.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors, consultants, and clients for site inspections and approvals.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for non-conformities.
- Ensure that quality control procedures are followed at all stages of construction, from materials receipt to project handover.
- Train and mentor junior QC staff to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Attend site coordination meetings and provide regular updates on QC activities to the project management team.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure all project documentation is audit-ready.
- Assist in the review and close-out of project quality documentation during handover.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 12 to 15 years of solid experience in quality control, with a strong background in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable international codes and standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, etc.).
- Proven experience in preparing and implementing project quality plans and ITPs.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and quality management software/tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
