Senior Government Relation Officer

Primary Purpose:

Leading, managing, and executing strategic initiatives, policies, and programs. This role involves working closely with senior leadership, government officials, and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of government services and initiatives. The Senior Government Officer will also provide guidance on policy development, strategic planning, and public administration, as well as lead teams in achieving departmental objectives.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of government policies and programs within the department.
  • Conduct research and analysis to assess policy impact, identify areas for improvement, and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Ensure policies are aligned with national goals and objectives, and that they comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior government officers and staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment.
  • Lead the strategic planning process for key initiatives, ensuring that goals and objectives are met within set timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee the progress of ongoing projects, assessing their alignment with government priorities.
  • Provide recommendations for improving performance, efficiency, and public service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, other departments, external organizations, and the public.
  • Represent the department in meetings, conferences, and other forums, ensuring that government initiatives are clearly communicated.
  • Monitor and report on regulatory changes that may impact departmental activities, advising senior management accordingly.
  • Analyze data and provide insights on government activities to inform future decisions and strategies.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.


Experience:

  • 5–7 years in governmental affairs or public administration, with at least 2 years in senior roles within the Saudi business ecosystem.
  • Experience in the retail, luxury, or consumer industries is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in policy development, program management, and team leadership.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop strategies, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.


Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian government structures, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.


Language:

Strong verbal and written communication in both Arabic and English.
