Senior Graphic Designer

Reports to: Design and Multimedia Manager

Purpose

The Senior Graphic Designer will need to create digital and print designs for Sharjah Art Foundation’s marketing and design requirements. His/her responsibilities include managing all graphic design tasks, refining projects and drafts and generating creative ideas as well as experience in implementing marketing campaigns. Ultimately, an excellent graphic designer will ensure that the design team promotes the vision of the company through high-quality graphic content.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee and create graphics for all design projects, from conception to delivery.
• Planning and managing all stages of the design projects.
• Assigning tasks and reviewing submissions of Junior Designers or interns.
• Generating fresh design concepts and campaigns.
• Coordinating with the Design Manager for the distribution of tasks with other designers.
• Responsible for the delivery of tasks in a timely manner.
• Responsible for flagging any delays in the process.
• Accountable for deliverables and schedules.
• Reviewing designs before they are sent to the consultant and check for quality and content.
• Incorporate changes recommended by the consultant or SAF President into the final design.
• Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met.
• Preparing files for print, including paper choice, paper quality and final print execution.
• Getting in touch with printers to check on delivery and status of the printing process.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools.
• Coordinating with suppliers and printing presses.
• Ensuring brand consistency throughout various design projects.
• Knowledgeable and up to date with the latest designs and visual communications in the market.
• Develop and design graphics for:

-Catalogues, flyers, posters or any other print materials.

-Outdoor advertising, print and newspaper advertising.

-Online advertising, social media content design, e-shots and online invitations.

-Labels, wall texts and other exhibition requests.

-Publications and exhibition booklets.

-Signage design and maps.

-Design PDFs, reports, schedules and other materials that get circulated to guests.

-All collaterals and merchandise.

-Photo-editing of any images that need to be fixed for all purposes.

Required Qualification, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design
• 4+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer, Visual Designer or relevant field
• Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (most importantly Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English
• Exceptional capabilities in typography, layout and prototyping
• Have a solid knowledge of photography
• Proven experience with concept development
• Inspired and passionate
• An effective communicator who understands project briefs and requirements
• Works well under pressure and delivers projects in a timely manner
• Strong design skills with a good eye for detail
• An innovative thinker with good problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design and brand development
• Knowledgeable about digital/print production
• Collaborator and team player
• Organised and efficient multitasker

Conditions of Work

The role is a full-time position based in Sharjah, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
