Senior Grower

Position Title: Senior Grower

Department: Cultivation

Reports To: Head Grower, Director of Cultivation

Position Summary

Perform grow-related tasks and procedures at assigned facility while leading/training grow teams and working on aspects of grow, employees, procedures, techniques, equipment, and tools that move it forward.

Core Responsibilities

All Assistant Grower and Grower responsibilities PLUS:

  • Team lead on one or more facility specialties: propagation, veg, flower, equipment, IPM, genetics, procedures, supervision, inventory, and safety.
  • Trainer of grow team employees.
  • Supervise daily grow task management and organization.
  • Engages in procedure and process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • Two+ years of experience as Grower at Verdes or equivalent.
  • Work a 40-hour work week including, at times, holidays, weekends, snow days, etc. Consecutive scheduled days off not always possible.
  • Shall work in adverse environmental conditions at times including hot, cold, humid, confined, strong smells, and others.
  • Shall work with dirty, wet, and laborious activities at times.
  • Works well in team-based systems: Accountability, communication, reliability, time management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional job experience or higher education; minimum two-year degree or equivalent work experience to demonstrate ability to operate in a professional business setting.

General Housekeeping:

  • Cleanliness is paramount to proper cultivation. All grow rooms and cultivation areas shall be cleaned daily including all equipment and tools used throughout the day.

Computer Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intra-office email, calendar, and SharePoint usage using Microsoft Office software.
  • Task management software app on PC and smart phone.
  • Data logging of grow activities to SharePoint documents.

Physical and Emotional Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, 8 – 10 hours multiple days in a row
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop/climb/reach
  • Must be able to present complex information to groups of people
  • Must be able to be physically present in the wholesale locations and administrative office
  • Ability to handle high stress situations, ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Must be able to tolerate a reasonable amount of work stress

Compensation

  • $20+ per hour
