Senior / Head Petrochemicals Trader

We are seeking an experienced " Senior / Head Petrochemicals Trader " for our client, a fast-growing international petrochemical trading company operating across Turkey, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. The company focuses on building sustainable supply chains, developing new product groups, and driving profitable international trade operations with a strong support system (logistics, finance, risk, local business management).

In this role, you will lead and scale trading operations in Turkey and MENA, open new product lines, and form profitable supply chains in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Business Development

• Launch and develop trading activities in key products: base oils (SN150, SN500, SN900), acrylonitrile, hydroxylamine sulfate, caprolactam, acetone, monomers, alcohols, glycols, rubbers, and related petrochemicals.

• Drive profitable trading deals in Turkey and MENA.

• Build strong commercial relationships with suppliers, producers, distributors, and end-customers.

• Identify and develop high-margin niche opportunities such as special monomers, alcohols, high-value glycols, and specialty rubbers.

Market & Strategy

• Analyze regional demand and competitive landscape in Turkey and MENA.

• Create and grow sustainable supply chains and sourcing channels.

• Explore, structure, and launch 1–2 new high-value product lines within the first year.

• Conduct ongoing market research, forecasts, pricing models, and competitive analysis.

P&L, Risk & Performance

• Own and manage the full P&L of the trading portfolio.

• Achieve positive P&L by month 6 and reach stable turnover across 4 core products by month 12.

• Manage pricing, credit, and logistics risks.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, risk frameworks, and regional regulations.

Operations & Logistics

• Collaborate closely with logistics, finance, risk management, and the local business manager.

• Build efficient supply routes, including transit chains through Turkey (MENA → Turkey → Europe and reverse).

• Oversee contract negotiation, documentation, payment terms, and supply execution.

Requirements

Hard Skills

• Proven track record in petrochemicals trading (Senior or Head level).

• Expertise in monomers, alcohols, glycols, acrylonitrile, caprolactam, and rubbers.

• Strong P&L ownership experience.

• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

• Deep understanding of the Turkey and MENA petrochemicals markets.

• Strong risk management skills (price, logistics, credit).
