Why does the job exist?

The Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist will provide:
Comprehensive advanced Human Resources (HR) services for assigned divisions within the Health Care Authority (HCA);

HR assistance and direction to divisions to meet business and operational needs;

Completion of processes regarding payroll, benefits, recruitment, on-boarding, and separations;

Complex compensation and occupational analysis related to human resources management;

A variety of human resource assessments and transactions utilizing the Statewide Human Resources Accounting and
Management Reporting System (SHARE) while ensuring compliance with Health Care Authority and State Personnel Office
(SPO) rules, policies and procedures.

How does it get done?

The Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for:

Helping managers with classification and compensation transactions, and recruitment processes;

Reviewing payroll and providing customer service to all Health Care Authority (HCA) employees;

Collecting and analyzing technical and specialized information to prepare job descriptions;

Developing methods to ensure fair and equitable pay rates and verify compensation compliance with changing laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training experience, and/or occupational analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must possess or obtain Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
