The Senior HR Manager will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight to all human resource functions of a large, multi-campus K–12 school system. The role entails modernizing HR practices, introducing technology-driven systems, and ensuring that the school’s people processes align with its mission of educational excellence, service, and continuous improvement.
The incumbent will lead a diverse HR team and serve as the principal architect of institutional HR transformation, ensuring that recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, and compliance processes are efficient, fair, and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the school’s vision, values, and long-term goals.
- Provide leadership and professional guidance to all campus teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and service excellence within the HR function.
- Recruitment and Talent Management
- Modernize recruitment practices by introducing data-driven and technology-enabled hiring processes.
- Develop systems for workforce planning, ensuring the right talent mix across teaching and non-teaching roles.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for all new employees.
- Build strong employer branding to attract high-quality candidates to the education sector.
- Performance Management and Appraisal
- Lead the transition to a modern, objective, and technology-based appraisal system that supports professional growth and accountability.
- Design fair and transparent performance metrics and rubrics for teachers and non-teaching staff.
- Provide periodic analytics and insights on staff performance, retention, and motivation.
- Link performance appraisal outcomes to training, recognition, and career progression initiatives.
- HR Digital Transformation
- Oversee the computerization and automation of HR processes such as attendance, leave, payroll, benefits, recruitment, and appraisal.
- Implement or upgrade the HRMS (Human Resource Management System) across campuses.
- Ensure integration of HR data with Finance and Administration systems for unified reporting and control.
- Employee Relations and Engagement
- Promote a positive organizational culture rooted in fairness, collaboration, and professional integrity.
- Address employee grievances promptly and constructively.
- Plan staff welfare, recognition, and engagement initiatives to enhance morale and retention.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws, service regulations, and school policies.
- Capacity Building and Training
- Identify training needs and develop continuous professional development (CPD) frameworks for staff.
- Conduct leadership development programs for mid-level managers and administrative officers.
- Partner with external agencies and educational institutions for staff training and certification programs.
- Policy Development and Compliance
- Review, update, and standardise HR policies, manuals, and service rules across all campuses.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under EPF, ESI, POSH, labour laws, and education-sector regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and ensure data protection standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a large educational, service-sector, or multi-location organisation.
- Proven experience in HR digital transformation, including HRMS implementation and analytics.
- Strong understanding of modern recruitment, performance management, and organisational development practices.
