Senior Human Resources Generalist
**Bilingual in Spanish and English highly preferred**
The purpose of this role is to support the goals and activities of the human resources team. The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a broad spectrum of HR related functions in the areas, including but not limited to compliance, employment administration, record maintenance, salary and benefits administration, safety, wellness, and personnel development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (approx. time spent annually)
- Develop, maintain, communicate, and regularly perform updates on employment documentation, policies, and procedures. (15%) - Traveling and collaborating with all company locations.
- Process changes and maintain personnel-related data and employment records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and electronic files in accordance with state, federal, and company recordkeeping requirements. (15%)
- Review employee and company training records for compliance and develop, maintain, and schedule trainings accordingly. (10%)
- Maintain working knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. (13%)
- Support employee compensation and benefits administration through: compiling market research, participating in applicable salary surveys, updating wage forecasting data and presenting information to management, participating in plan review and renewal meetings, coordinating and administering open enrollment and new hire enrollment, completing compensation and benefit documentation. (10%)
- Assist in resolving employment conflicts and properly documenting corrective action, performance improvement, and employee coaching. (10%)
- Ensure company's compliance with applicable state and federal safety laws, regulations, and best practices in preventing workplace injury through: participating in the company's safety committee, maintaining written safety programs, scheduling and facilitating annual trainings, interfacing with safety consultants and workers compensation companies. (12%)
- Perform new hire onboarding and employee offboarding processes. (5%)
- Assist in the development, maintaining, and administration of company wellness programs and initiatives. (5%)
- Assist in processing weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls utilizing HR and Payroll system. (5%)
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with various HR projects as needed
- Support company events and recognition programs
- Participate in employee relations and employee engagement activities
- Assist with HR and company audits and reporting requirements
- Assist in thorough investigations into harassment and other employment complaints
- Develop and maintain HR Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as needed
- Assist with performance management processes
- Any other duties assigned by leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field highly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
- 7+ years progressive Human Resources experience required
- Strong understanding of labor law and employment equity regulations
- Proven and effective HR administration skills
- Established understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently
- Show initiative with strong desire to learn
- Strong ethical conduct and confidentiality
