District Five is one of six districts of the New Mexico Department of Transportation. The boundaries of District Five include the following counties: Torrance, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Taos, and San Juan. Employees in the District are responsible for providing the Maintenance, Construction, Engineering Support, and Business support measures of the Department to ensure
the safety of the public as well as efficient highways.
This job is located in the District Five Administrative office in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
As a valued new employee to NMDOT, you may be eligible to receive three (3) days of administrative leave upon your start date. This is applicable to external hires not within the State of New Mexico Government.

Why does the job exist?
To provide training in all areas of Human Resources. Incumbent will review and research issues that arise within Human Resource as assigned and ensure that all directives are current and the District is compliant with Federal Employment Law requirements. Entering and completing LiveCycle actions, and hiring for designated area.
How does it get done?
To provide Human Resources support to the department Human Resources staff and management in regard to a variety of transactions and recruitment in the Statewide Human Resources Accounting and Management Reporting System (SHARE) while ensuring compliance with New Mexico Department of Transportation and State Personnel Office rules, policies, and procedures. This position will assist and provide backup to the Human Resource Supervisor and payroll and benefits.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training experience, and/or occupational analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
