The role will oversee geographically distributed field teams. This role ensures compliance with labor laws and safety regulations specific to fieldwork, manages employee relations for a dispersed workforce, and aligns HR strategies with field operations goals.
Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Staffing:
Coordinate and manage the full recruitment cycle for field personnel, including developing job descriptions, conducting interviews, and overseeing the onboarding process, often for a high volume or multi-state workforce.

Employee Relations & Support:
Serve as the primary HR liaison for field employees and managers, providing guidance on workplace issues, conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation.

Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as specific industry regulations such as OSHA standards, fleet safety practices, and workers' compensation procedures.

Training and Development:
Identify training needs and coordinate the development and implementation of training programs, including safety, compliance, and job-specific skills training (e.g., technical certifications, leadership skills).

Performance Management:
Facilitate the performance appraisal system, providing coaching to managers on performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.

Compensation and Benefits:
Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and fair for the field service environment.

Data Management & Reporting:
Maintain accurate employee records and use HR metrics and data analysis to identify trends (e.g., turnover, productivity) and inform decision-making.

Develop and update HR policies and procedures tailored to the unique needs of field operations and ensure consistent application.
Qualifications

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is preferred.

Experience:
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) as an HR Manager, with experience supporting a field service, skilled trades, or multi-location workforce being ideal.
