JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior HVAC Technician
with extensive
Oil & Gas industry experience
to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of
centrifugal chillers
and
VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems
in industrial and commercial facilities. This role demands a proactive professional who can minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.

.
WORK EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum
10 years of hands-on experience
in the
Oil & Gas sector
(onshore or offshore), specifically working with
chiller systems
and
VRF technology
.

Proven track record of working on large-capacity centrifugal chillers (e.g., Carrier, York, Trane, Mitsubishi, Daikin) and multi-zone VRF systems.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
-
In-depth knowledge
of centrifugal chiller operation, including refrigeration cycles, oil management, purge units, and electronic expansion valves.

Strong understanding of
VRF systems
(heat pump and heat recovery), including branch controllers, refrigerant piping design, and addressable controls.

Ability to read and interpret:
-
P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
-
Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
-
Manufacturer technical manuals
-
Mechanical engineering drawings
-
Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as:
-
Digital manifolds, multimeters, megohmmeters, thermal cameras, refrigerant leak detectors, and HVAC software interfaces.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
– able to diagnose complex faults involving mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant circuits simultaneously.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation & Commissioning:
-
Oversee or perform installation of new centrifugal chillers and VRF systems in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications.
-
Support commissioning activities including pressure testing, evacuation, charging, and system balancing.
Maintenance:
-
Perform
routine inspections
(daily, weekly, monthly) of chillers, VRF outdoor/indoor units, compressors, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, pumps, and AHUs.
-
Execute
preventive maintenance
schedules: cleaning coils, changing filters, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, inspecting electrical connections, and verifying control sequences.

Carry out
corrective maintenance
to quickly restore failed equipment and reduce operational downtime.
Repair & Replacement:
-
Diagnose and repair/replace faulty
compressors
(scroll, screw, centrifugal),
pumps
,
motors
,
starters
,
contactors
,
capacitors
,
fans
,
belts
,
bearings
,
valves
(solenoid, thermal expansion, shut-off), and
control components
(sensors, thermostats, PLC modules).

Recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerants (e.g., R-134a, R-410A, R-32) following environmental and safety regulations.
Documentation & Reporting:
-
Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance, repairs, refrigerant usage, and parts inventory.

Prepare daily and weekly service reports for supervisor review.
-
Report major faults, safety incidents, or recurring issues with recommendations for long-term solutions.
Safety & Compliance:
-
Strictly follow
Oil & Gas site safety protocols
(e.g., PTW – Permit to Work, LOTO – Lockout/Tagout, H2S awareness, etc.).

Comply with local and international HVAC codes (ASHRAE, ISO, or equivalent).
-
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials (oils, refrigerants, chemicals).
English speaking is mandatory
– both written and verbal, for reading technical documents, reporting, and communicating with supervisors and team members.
